The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Enugu State Investment Development Authority, Dr. Sam Ogbu-Nwobodo, is in Dubai UAE meeting with investors at the 2022 AIM Meeting.

Ogbu-Nwobodo who is member of a high powered state delegation lead by the Hon. Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mrs. Adaona Kene-Uyawune, is wooing foreign investors to tap into the huge economic and investment potentials of Enugu State.

The MD/CEO who met with an array of global investors at various sessions of the Investment Meeting organised by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, said Enugu is an amazing investment destination with several investment opportunities waiting to be harnessed.

Speaking at the Enugu State’s forum, of the AIM 2022, to a packed audience of international investors, the state’s Commissioner for Finance and Economic planning highlighted that the state is seeking investment at the meeting in particular focus sectors of Agro Processing, Electric power infrastructure, ICT Hub Development in the three Senatorial zones and investment in the Enugu state Free Trade Zone. She invited investors to partner Enugu state in these sectors.

The commissioner further emphasised that actions already taken by the Ugwuanyi’s Administration have put the state on a positive investment trajectory, stating that a recent World Bank’s Ease-of-Doing Business ranking report rated Enugu highest in the SouthEast region and 2nd most advances state towards global best practice, as well as being adjudged as one of the safest places to do business in the country. She highlighted the establishment of the Enugu states Investment Development Authority with its One Stop Investment Center, the Ease of Doing business Council, and the Enpower and Lion Business Park Free Trade Zone in addition to generous state and federal government investment incentives as amongst the reasons why investors should invest in Enugu.

The state’s delegation also included Rev. Ugo Chime, Group MD of Copen Group, representing the private sector.

The Annual Investment Meeting UAE, AIM 2022, with the theme; “Investment in Sustainable Innovation for a Thriving Future” which ended March 31 attracted exhibitors and participants from over 190 countries, including 14 states from Nigeria.
