Investigation by the GMTNews shows that the election which is a fight for the soul of the Igbo enclave is expected to shape Ndigbo politics for years to come.
At its core, this race is about which of the major candidates of APGA, PDP, AA and APC who has the potential of giving hope to the people and the future generation.
While the APC candidate has spent time and fortunes poaching big names from other parties to show semblance of acceptability, Soludo of APGA has spent his highly disciplined campaign listening and engaging with the people and addressing their needs and allaying their fears of a beleaguered future.
Indeed, the election in Anambra State which prides itself as the light of the nation will decide whether the people will chose light or darkness.
On the economy, Soludo has made it clear that he will build a strong and vibrant economy; that he will provide the kind of formal and informal education that will make the people fit into the new economy.
Eloquent and articulate Ben Etiaba of Action Alliance has made it abundantly clear that he would parade galaxy of professionals to handle affairs of the state of he became successful in the bid.
The distinctive lines have been drawn – Andy Uba as a political servant of Abuja hegemonic interest and Chukwuma Soludo, Ben Etiaba and Ozigbo as Public Servants of the people.
Consecutively, the recent polls have seen Soludo, Ozigbo and Etiaba increase their dominance over other candidates for the poll.
If the trend continues Soludo or Ozigbo may coast home to a landslide victory bigger than expected. However, Etiaba who many regards as a dark horse in the race may spring an outcome that may surprise many.
Interestly, leading pro- Biafra group – Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has at the eleventh hour cancelled the bilateral one week sit-at-home order, paving room for more elegible voters to excercise their civic responsibility on Saturday.
A statement issued by the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, sates that the call off of the one week sit-at-home was due to interventions by well meaning Ndigbo.

It’s never our intention to add to the pains of our people, hence our decision to suspend the sit-at-home.
“IPOB leadership is only interested in Our referendum and peaceful agitation for self determination, and can not by under any guise be seen to be interfering with any electoral process.
