Alleged plans by the member representing Nkanu East and West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji to (allegedly) commandeer Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, delegates in the federal constituency was foiled today at his Nkanu West Local Government Area.
GMTNews gathered that he allegedly
planned to surreptitiously high-jack PDP statutory delegates from Nkanu East and West Local Government Areas to a meeting contrary to a standing instruction to obtain necessary approval or clearance from appropriate authorities before any such meeting.
Report has it that Nnolim visibly expressed rage when he discovered that the venue he planned to use for the meeting was locked and instructions issued that no one should be granted access to the premises.
Unconfirmed sources also informed GMTNews that leadership of Nkanu East Local Government Area had earlier instructed party delegates from the LGA to distance themselves from the said meeting which purpose could not be ascertained.
Some of Nnolim’s supporters were seen with sullen faces as they were not allowed into the venue of the meeting that was scheduled for 12 🕛 noon today, Sunday.
Nnolim who as a member of the People for Democratic Change, PDC, founded by the former Governor of Enugu State, and Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, campaigned against the PDP in the 2011 elections as candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, but it was a surprise to many PDP faithful in Enugu state, when he was allegedly aided by Enugu State actors and PDP structure for Nkanu East and West LGAs were handed over to him and his cronies post 2015.
There are speculations that Chief Uche Nnaji, Hon Nnolim’s elder brother has an interest in the Enugu State governorship in 2023, which some say he may want to actualize on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC
