The metering exercise will begin in Enugu on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, focusing on EEDC customers in the Ogui, Awkunanaw, and Abakpa districts. According to Emeka Ezeh, the Head of Corporate Communications at EEDC, the Mobile MAP metering approach is a strategic effort to ensure that "customers under service Band A are metered within 48 hours."

"We appeal to the affected customers to clear their arrears on or before June 10, 2024, to avoid disconnection of their supply," Emeka urged.

"We are deploying prepaid meters feeder by feeder. In the past six months, we have covered four feeders: Aba Township, Aba East, Ehi Road, and the World Bank. We are about to commence work on the fifth feeder. Our chairman, Professor Bart Nnaji, has directed us to always prioritize manufacturing firms as they were instrumental in bringing Geometric Power to Aba, a key industrial city. We prioritize them to help reduce their operational costs, which will make their products more affordable, benefiting the general populace." Opiegbe
