The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated its new party secretariat in Abuja, marking a major step in strengthening its internal structure and deepening its long-term commitment to democracy in Nigeria.
During the unveiling of the new secretariat, the national chairman, Sen. David Mark, highlighted the party’s renewed drive toward national service, responsible leadership, and sustainable development. He said the facility would serve as a strategic hub for planning, leadership grooming, and policy innovation.
Mark emphasised that the new party secretariat symbolises ADC’s resolve to build a Nigeria founded on strong institutions, transparent governance and functional democratic systems that benefit citizens.
He stated: “This is more than infrastructure. The new party secretariat is a central hub where strategies will be developed, ideas matured, leaders shaped, and policies crafted to strengthen democracy nationwide.”
According to him, the inauguration of the new party secretariat represents unity, discipline, an evolving political identity, and a renewed commitment to overcoming the divisions that have slowed Nigeria’s democratic growth.
He urged members to embrace a culture of justice, equity, public service and nation-building, stressing that the new party secretariat should inspire leadership rooted in integrity, responsibility, competence and accountability.
Mark noted that politics must prioritise citizens’ welfare above partisan interests and prove that principled, people-focused leadership is possible.
“With humility and unwavering faith in democracy, I unveil this new party secretariat to honour God, strengthen our party and contribute to Nigeria’s democratic consolidation,” he added.
