Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, has expressed optimism that the APC will survive beyond 2027 in Nigeria, crediting the party’s continued success to its performance at both national and state levels.
Dr. Jatau made the statement on Tuesday while receiving the 13 All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen in Lafia. He said the ruling APC will survive beyond 2027 because of its effective governance and the developmental strides of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Nasarawa State.
According to the Speaker, Governor Sule’s outstanding achievements have continued to attract opposition lawmakers and other stakeholders into the APC fold, strengthening the party’s structure ahead of future elections.
“I want to appreciate you for expressing your happiness over our effective synergy and support to Governor Sule to succeed,” Jatau said. “By God’s grace, the APC will survive beyond 2027.”
The Speaker commended Governor Sule for what he described as “giant developmental strides” across the state, noting that his leadership has brought visible progress to various sectors.
“As I always say, Governor Sule is God-sent to the people of this state. Because of his performance, many people are joining the APC daily. We are proud of his achievements and will continue to support him to succeed,” Jatau added.
He urged party stakeholders and members to remain united and committed to ensuring that the APC will survive beyond 2027 and continue to deliver good governance to the people.
Dr. Jatau also appealed to citizens to keep praying for Governor Sule’s administration to finish strong by the end of his tenure in 2027.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and APC Chairman of Lafia Local Government Area, Mr. Umar Aliyu, said the visit was to foster collaboration between local party leaders and APC lawmakers for the unity and growth of the party in Nasarawa State.
Aliyu appreciated the Speaker and other APC lawmakers for their commitment to the party’s ideals, describing their efforts as crucial to sustaining the momentum that ensures the APC will survive beyond 2027. Visit GMTNewsng for more news.

Wike Reaffirms Respect for Military but Condemns Lawlessness in FCT
FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared his respect for the Nigerian military while warning that lawlessness and impunity will not be tolerated in Abuja, stressing that all actions of the FCTA are guided strictly by law.
November 13, 2025
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his deep respect for the Nigerian military but emphasized that the armed forces must always operate within the bounds of the law.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Wike maintained that the FCT Administration would not condone any form of lawlessness, whether by serving or retired military officers, or by private individuals.
According to the minister, no government can tolerate lawlessness or impunity among its citizens or officials. His remarks followed a confrontation on Tuesday with a naval officer, Lt. Ahmed Yerima, who allegedly denied him access to a disputed land said to belong to a retired Chief of Naval Staff, Awwal Gambo.
Wike explained that the FCT Administration’s enforcement actions were based solely on legality and due process. “There were no documents proving that the military owned the land,” he stated, adding that any form of lawlessness or disregard for land regulations would be dealt with decisively.
He noted that the controversy was exaggerated by political opponents unhappy with his firm stance on land matters, saying that some individuals were trying to portray him as being at odds with the military.
“As a Minister, I won’t sit in my office while those working with me are being attacked,” he said, insisting that his interventions were purely administrative and lawful.
Wike also appreciated leaders who had reached out to resolve issues peacefully, emphasizing that mutual respect and adherence to due process were crucial in addressing land-related disputes.
Recalling previous encounters, Wike explained that when similar issues arose with the Police, the Inspector-General personally intervened and ordered a halt to illegal construction under power lines, a gesture he described as respectful and lawful.
He cited examples of former presidents and retired generals who approached the FCTA with discipline and respect for the rule of law, rather than resorting to lawlessness or intimidation.
The FCT Minister reaffirmed his commitment to restoring order, discipline, and sanity in Abuja in line with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for the capital city. He vowed that enforcement against illegal land developments, land grabbing, and violations of the Abuja Master Plan would continue without compromise.
“As long as I remain FCT Minister, the law will take its course. Abuja must reflect the image of Nigeria, disciplined, planned, and lawful,” Wike declared, stressing that lawlessness would have no place under his administration. Visit GMTNewsng for more news.
