Agbani, September 23, 2025 – The Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has applauded the developmental projects of Governor Peter Mbah, stressing that evidence of performance has made mobilization for the governor’s 2027 re-election both simple and compelling.

Ogbodo made the remark while receiving members of the Enugu Unity Forum, who paid a courtesy visit to his office at the council headquarters in Agbani on Tuesday (today). The chairman noted that Mbah’s infrastructural and social investments had touched every part of the state, including Nkanu West, where projects such as the Amodu–Akpugo–Akpwfu–Amagunze road, 14 Type 2 hospitals, and Smart Green Schools have been delivered.

According to him, the governor’s commitment of over one billion naira in each of Enugu’s 260 wards reflects a leadership style anchored on inclusivity and results. He added that his council had complemented these state-level initiatives through access road projects and culvert construction across the LGA, rehabilitation works at the Ozalla Motor Park, a sanitation facility at Eke Agbani Market, a modern abattoir nearing completion, and three functional boreholes at the market. “The governor’s good works have made campaigning for his re-election so straightforward because residents can see the impact directly,” Ogbodo emphasized.

Earlier, the visiting Enugu Unity Forum led by Dr. Emeka Nwatu, Coordinator for Enugu East Senatorial Zone, said Governor Mbah’s policies had already positioned Enugu among the leading states in Nigeria. He explained that residents were eager to reward the administration with a second term, stressing that the forum would launch its local government and ward structures in October to strengthen grassroots mobilization.

Dr. Nwatu, who introduced Sir Ikechukwu Okeke as the Nkanu West coordinator and ESV Edison Ozo-Edeh as secretary, described Mbah as a transformational leader who came prepared to govern. He said the forum’s role was to showcase the governor’s achievements and rally residents around his vision for Enugu.

Also speaking, Hon. Robert Arum, deputy coordinator of the forum in Enugu East senatorial zone, expressed appreciation to the council chairman for the reception. He remarked that the scale of Ogbodo’s local projects was a surprise to many of them, describing the chairman as a mirror of the governor’s performance ethos at the grassroots level.

The courtesy visit, observers noted, underscores how stakeholders are aligning around evidence-based governance in Enugu, where visible results in infrastructure, healthcare, and education are reshaping public perceptions and political momentum ahead of 2027. GMTNewsng
