Result sheet presented to journalists and yet to be authenticated by INEC
The Anambra South senatorial and state assembly by-election has been thrown into controversy as shocking revelations emerge of alleged widespread electoral fraud, brutalization of journalists, and attempts to rewrite results.
Polling unit result sheets presented to the media by the camp of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (popularly known as Ikukuoma), the APC governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025 election, indicate a sweeping victory for the APC across Orsumenyi Ward 2 and beyond. These results, however, are yet to be authenticated by INEC.

APC Accuses Soludo’s Deputy of Election Invasion
According to Ukachukwu and the APC, the Anambra State Government allegedly deployed a platoon of armed men led by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Gilbert Ibezim, who stormed polling units in Orsumenyi Ward 1 and attempted to tamper with Ward 2 results at the Ukpor collation centre.
Despite the alleged intimidation, INEC officials and party agents reportedly resisted efforts to alter the figures.

Ukachukwu described the outcome as a “traditional sweeping victory” for his party the APC in his ward, crediting the resistance of Orsumenyi youths who stood their ground against external invasion.
“Armed Men Shot Indiscriminately” – APC
The APC campaign accused Deputy Governor Ibezim of moving like a “dictatorial emperor of the medieval era,” with foul-mouthed armed escorts who fired shots, snatched ballot boxes, and terrorized voters on election day.
APC, Ukachukwu Blast Soludo Over Intimidation of Opponents
At a press conference in Awka, Ukachukwu and APC State Chairman, Chief Basil Ejidike, questioned Governor Charles Soludo’s involvement in what they termed “a direct invasion of Ikukuoma’s hometown.”

They described the act as the height of political provocation and insisted that the motive behind harassing journalists was to prevent the exposure of electoral malpractice.
Journalists Beaten, Opposition Arrested
Discreet findings by APC revealed that 18 journalists were allegedly detained, beaten, and held at gunpoint to stop them from reporting the scale of election fraud they witnessed. Vocal opposition members were also assaulted and whisked away.
Despite the chaos, Ukachukwu reportedly maintained calm composure, urging his supporters to resist provocation and stay peaceful.

APC Questions Soludo’s Own Election Records
Ukachukwu further threw jabs at Governor Soludo, asking Nigerians to interrogate how votes were generated for him in his Isuofia community during the last general election.
“This Soludo brand of politics is dangerous to democracy. We call on INEC, security agencies, and the Presidency to be mindful of this evil trend which can consume anyone in the future,” APC warned in a joint statement.

The Unanswered Question: Who Truly Won Anambra South?
While APC insists their candidate, Azuka Okwuosa, secured a resounding victory in the senatorial race, the authenticity of the results presented remains uncertain as INEC has not officially confirmed them.

For now, the controversy deepens as citizens wait to see if INEC will validate the results – or if the allegations of electoral fraud, intimidation, and assault will overshadow the people’s true verdict at the polls. GMTNewsng
