••• Urge Rivers people to stay united and law-abiding

PORT HARCOURT – The immediate past chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Rivers State have reaffirmed their support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, paying him a solidarity visit at his private residence in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Nelson Chukwudi, the former chairmen expressed their unwavering commitment to the Rivers First agenda under Governor Fubara’s leadership.

Led by Hon. Prince Ezebunwo Ichemati, former chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON) and ex-Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, the delegation pledged their continued loyalty to the Governor’s mandate.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ichemati stated that the visit was to reassure Governor Fubara of their steadfast support and to encourage Rivers people to remain united behind his administration despite prevailing challenges.

“This is a crucial time in our state’s political history. We urge all Rivers people to stay united and law-abiding, so as not to give room for enemies to advance their agenda,” he said.

The former chairmen also prayed for divine intervention and protection for the Governor, expressing hope that the state would overcome its current political challenges through unity and collective resolve. GMTNewsng
