Senator Kelvin Chukwu, representating Enugu East Senatorial District, joined Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other members of the Federal Government delegation to pay a condolence visit to former President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani who buried his wife Lady Jane Nnamani yesterday. The senators and other members of the delegation were received warmly by the family members and well-wishers who expressed appreciation for their presence.

During the visit, the senators sympathized with Nnamani and his family and offered their condolences. They also took time to pray and comfort the family. Chukwu, who was visibly moved, spoke of how death is an inevitable part of human life, and noted that Jane would be remembered for her kindness and love.

In his message of hope and unity to the people of Enugu East Senatorial District, Senator Chukwu emphasized the need for Nigerians to support one another during difficult times. He stated that the challenges facing the country can only be overcome through unity and cooperation, and pledged to work hard towards promoting peace and harmony in his district.

Chukwu also emphasized the importance of unity in achieving progress and economic development. He pointed out that his district is endowed with natural resources that can be harnessed for the benefit of the people, and called on stakeholders to work together to ensure that the resources are effectively utilized.

The senator further reiterated his commitment to propose, and support legislations that would make for youth empowerment, job creation, and poverty alleviation, and expressed confidence in the ability of his constituents to take advantage of opportunities that will be made available to them.

Chukwu reminded his constituents that they have a role to play in shaping the future of Nigeria, urging them to exercise their civic rights and participate actively in the democratic process. He stated that by doing so, they will be contributing to the growth and development of the country.

In his remarks, Senate President Godswill Akpabio commended Chukwu for his dedication and forward thinking towards the welfare of his constituents. He urged other senators to emulate Chukwu’s idea and to work towards promoting peace, unity, and progress in their various districts.

Nnamani, in his response, thanked the delegates for their kind words and support, stating that their visit had brought comfort to him and his family during this difficult time.

The senators signed the condolence register and offered their final prayers for Lady Jane and the Nnamani family.

The delegation which include Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kali; Special Adviser to the President on security, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu among many others, later went on a courtesy call on Governor Peter Mbah at the Enugu Lion Building. GMTNews
