Aba IPP (Abe Electricity Ringfence) which was acquired over many years ago, was built up to 90-95% completion. About 8 years ago the govt at that time sold power assets to another company including the Aba IPP and this stalled progress of work on the electricity project.

However, the present administration of President Buhari has resolved the issue and today Geometric Power, GP, has formally taken over the Aba IPP assets. The handover which happened today took place in the presence of BPE, EEDC and Interstate Electric and Geometric Power.

A statement on Geometric Power’s website says: “Today we are excited to announce that Interstate Electrics, EEDC, and BPE formally handed over the Aba Electricity Ringfence to Geometric Power in a ceremony at BPE.”
