President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos from Paris, France, after ending his working vacation. He is expected to attend a film premiere honouring MKO Abiola and hold strategic meetings with political leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Lagos from Paris, France, following the conclusion of his working vacation, during which he held meetings with business leaders and other prominent figures.

According to a State House press release issued on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu departed Paris for Nigeria and was expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, later in the evening.

The President chose to arrive in Lagos to honour the memory of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, the presumed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election and a prominent figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

Tinubu is scheduled to attend the premiere of a film celebrating Abiola on Independence Day, October 1, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.

During his stay in Lagos, the President is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.

He will return to Abuja after concluding the engagements.

Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending one week in London before travelling to Paris, where he held several engagements.

While in the French capital, he attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group.

The group’s media and digital interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.

The President also met with Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Holdings, on Monday.

Last week, Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the proposed development of a deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and the establishment of a Blue Marine Economic Zone.

DP World plans to invest $7 billion in the proposed seaport and economic zone.

The President’s return to Lagos marks the end of his working vacation and the beginning of a series of engagements, including the Independence Day film premiere and meetings with political associates ahead of the 2027 elections.
