Cautions motorists about the failed portion
Nkanu West Local Government Council Chairman, Chief Nwabueze Nnamani has cautioned motorists plying Amechi-Obeagu-Amodu-Agbani-Amagunze-Ezzamgbo road to drive with utmost care in order to avoid accident at the failed portion of the road at Atavu-River bridge 🌉 at Amodu in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The failed portion
Speaking to newsmen at the scene of the erosion ravaged road, the Chairman who said the damage on the road was caused by the recent heavy rains experienced in the state, noted that he had alerted the Enugu State Government on the development because the extent of damage done to the road was beyond the scope of what the Local Government Council could handle.
While calling on the Federal and Enugu State governments for their intervention, he pleaded with motorists to be weary of the bad portion to avoid mishap, he assured that his Council would provide temporal measure to ensure that the failed portion does not cause accident.

“When I got the information of this erosion-like failure on the road, I quickly contacted the Honourable Commissioner for Works and briefed on the development, and sort their (state govt’s) attention.
“I know this is a federal road but I’m not going to wait until federal or state government (they) come. I will give it a remedial attention so as to make sure no accident is recorded here.
