Officers of the Hisbah Board in Kebbi State have apprehended four adults in two hotels over allegations of immoral conduct.
The development was confirmed on April 28, 2026, by the Director of the agency, Mr. Surajo Usman, during a briefing with journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
According to Usman, the Hisbah Board raided two hotels on April 25 and arrested four individuals made up of two men and two women.
He added that one of the women arrested was married with four children.
The director said the agency used the opportunity to urge residents to uphold moral values, preserve the sanctity of marriage, and avoid actions capable of disturbing public peace.
Usman further disclosed that Hisbah officers also carried out separate raids in hotels located in Birnin Kebbi and Makera towns.
He said additional arrests involved some girls, boys, and older men allegedly engaged in similar immoral acts.
The agency also reported reuniting two children found at different times with their parents.
Usman added that a mentally unstable woman from Zuru, who had reportedly been missing for three years, was found and reunited with her family.
He also stated that a woman from Gombe facing marital problems with her husband in the Niger Republic was brought before the board and later returned to her parents at their request.
According to the director, the board handled another case involving a 15-year-old girl, a recent Muslim convert, who was allegedly found with a young man.
He also mentioned the arrest of a woman accused of receiving money from men for sexual relations in order to care for her orphaned children.
Beyond enforcement duties, the Hisbah Board said it resolved disputes involving married couples and mediated a disagreement between a housemaid and her employers.
Usman noted that the board also assisted in settling a debt dispute involving a Kebbi indigene and an Abuja resident after intervention was sought.
He added that a boy from Ka’oje town who ran away from school was found wandering and later reunited with his teacher.
The director warned individuals involved in immoral conduct or those facilitating such behaviour to desist, stating that future offenders would face strict legal action from the Hisbah Board.
