NAF intensifies counter-terrorism operations in Borno, killing scores of insurgents and destroying hideouts in coordinated air-ground strikes under Operation Hadin Kai.

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism operations in the North-East, neutralising scores of insurgents and destroying their hideouts in precision airstrikes in the Jilli axis of Borno State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Sunday in Abuja.

According to Ejodame, the airstrikes were conducted on April 11 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai as part of ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.

He explained that the mission targeted fleeing insurgents and regrouping elements following an earlier successful operation that had already weakened their positions.

“The follow-up strikes were executed based on credible intelligence and in close coordination with ground forces to deny terrorists freedom of movement and prevent further attacks.

“The operation formed part of a broader air-ground integration effort aimed at consolidating earlier gains recorded by friendly forces,” he said.

Ejodame noted that the strikes significantly disrupted terrorist activities within the Jilli axis, an area frequently used as a hideout due to its challenging terrain.

He added that the sustained offensive highlights the increasing effectiveness of intelligence-driven joint military operations in the North-East.

The Nigerian Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining pressure on insurgents through continuous surveillance, precision targeting, and rapid-response missions.

“The NAF will continue to sustain momentum in ongoing operations to protect innocent lives, secure communities and restore lasting peace in the region,” he said.
