MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited announces two-day planned outage in parts of Nsukka to replace faulty breakers at UNN Injection Substation.
MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Nsukka, Enugu State, scheduled for Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27, 2026.
The company said the outage would enable its engineers to replace faulty breakers at the UNN Injection Substation.
The exercise will involve shutting down Willson, UNN, Township and Onuiyi 11kV feeders.
Areas expected to be affected include Ogige Market and environs, the entire UNN community down to Obukpa, Isiuwa through Ofulonu, Agu Eke Edem, Barracks area, St. Cyprian and environs, Uwani Ugwu community, Building Materials Market, Solive Industries, Umuakashi community, parts of Aku Road, as well as Catholic and Anglican Cathedral communities.
The company said normal electricity supply would be restored once the installation exercise is completed.
MEDL apologised for the inconvenience and appealed for customers’ understanding, noting that the exercise is aimed at improving service quality.
