The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that 20 ships are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at major Lagos ports.

The disclosure was made on Saturday in the NPA’s official shipping position released to journalists.

According to the authority, the vessels are operating across Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port, and Tin Can Island Port.

The ships are discharging a wide range of cargo, including buck wheat, diesel, crude oil, bulk pallets, general cargo, petrol, containers, bulk gas, fresh fish, bulk urea, salt, and aviation fuel.

The NPA also announced that 35 additional ships laden with petroleum products, food items, and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between Saturday and January 25.

These incoming vessels are expected to deliver general cargo, gypsum, bulk oil, bulk urea, gasoline, condensate, buck wheat, containerised goods, bulk salt, and petrol.

Meanwhile, the authority disclosed that nine ships have already arrived and are currently waiting to berth, carrying bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, containers, general cargo, and petrol.

The steady flow of ships underscores ongoing commercial activity at Lagos ports and their critical role in Nigeria’s energy supply and trade logistics.
