APC’s Rabiu Shuaibu Wins Kano Federal Constituency By-Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured a decisive victory in the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State, with its candidate, Rabiu Shuaibu, emerging winner by a wide margin, according to official results announced by INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rabiu Shuaibu, winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State.

The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Umar Sani, announced the result after the conclusion of voting and collation, confirming that Shuaibu secured a commanding lead over his opponents.

According to the official results, the APC candidate polled 35,356 votes to emerge victorious in the contest.

His closest challengers trailed significantly behind, with Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) receiving 268 votes, while Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party (LP) garnered 98 votes.

Declaring the result, Prof. Sani stated that the election was duly contested and conducted in accordance with the law.

“The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” he announced.

The by-election was conducted to fill the vacant seat in the House of Representatives following the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan, who was elected on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Shuaibu’s victory strengthens the APC’s representation in Kano State and brings an end to the electoral process initiated to replace the late lawmaker.
