The politically vibrant Ozalla community has unanimously endorsed Governor Peter Mbah for re-election in 2027, as prominent leaders dismiss opposition challengers as insignificant.
Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has received an overwhelming and unanimous vote of confidence from the expansive Ozalla community in Nkanu West Local Government Area, firmly consolidating his political dominance ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial race.
In a historic and highly animated gathering at the weekend, a massive delegation comprising community leaders, traditional rulers, political figures, and cultural troupes from all five autonomous communities of Ozalla converged on the governor’s country home in Owo, Nkanu East LGA.
The solidarity visit, which served as both a formal expression of deep structural gratitude and a powerful renewal of long-standing historical bonds, culminated in the community’s unreserved endorsement of Mbah’s re-election bid for a second term in office.
Leading the high-powered delegation, the President General of the Ozalla Development Union, Chief Obiora Okwuibe, highly praised the governor for his visionary leadership, inclusive governance model, and rapid transformational interventions that have visibly rewritten the development narrative of the locality.
The community expressed immense gratitude to Governor Mbah for successfully facilitating the high-profile appointment of their son, Dr. Kingsley Tochi Udeh, SAN-who transitioned from his role as the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to become the federal Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology-alongside several other strategic state-level appointments granted to deserving indigenous professionals.
Okwuibe pointedly lauded the ongoing execution of critical grassroots projects, including the solar-powered Smart Green School, the Type II Primary Healthcare Centre, and vital regional road repairs, while using the opportunity to lobby the governor to reconstruct the inner road networks linking the local villages and farmlands. Pledging absolute political mobilization across the autonomous zones, the union boss guaranteed a massive voter turnout to secure Mbah’s mandate in 2027, while reaffirming their strategic alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal administration.
Adding significant heavyweight political backing to the declaration, the former Minister of Information, Chief Frank Nweke Jr., stated that Ozalla’s total commitment to the governor is deeply rooted in genuine conviction and appreciation of his exceptional executive capacity.
Delivering a stinging blow to rival camps, Nweke completely dismissed opposition aspirants as politically insignificant, describing them as minor annoyances that pose absolutely no threat to Mbah’s inevitable re-election triumph.
In a warm and reassuring response, Governor Mbah thanked the Ozalla contingent for their profound expression of trust, declaring that his administration’s philosophy remains anchored on equitable development where no community is left behind.
He promised that with substantial capital investments in education and healthcare now nearing optimization, the state government is set to unleash an aggressive rural road construction campaign targetting 1,250 kilometers annually, freeing up resources to directly connect rural economies to the urban marketplace.
