Issuing a powerful festive address, President Bola Tinubu declares that Nigeria’s hardest fiscal challenges are over, praising citizens’ enduring sacrifice.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Nigeria and the global community as they mark the annual Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

In an official State House statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the President gave glory to Almighty God for preserving the lives of citizens to witness another sacred festive season.

He noted that the essence of the “Festival of Sacrifice” serves as a timeless reminder of the virtues of absolute faith, obedience, and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to offer his only son, Ismail, in total submission to the will of Allah.

Reflecting on the state of the nation, the Commander-in-Chief explained that Nigeria remains on a steady journey of structural reconstruction and institutional renewal.

While acknowledging that the aggressive fiscal policies and macroeconomic adjustments undertaken by his administration over the past three years have been difficult, he maintained they were inevitable steps required to rescue the country from collapse.

President Tinubu joyfully asserted that the deep sacrifice made collectively by all Nigerians has finally yielded a stable economy, making the nation a highly preferred destination for foreign direct investments that will drive job creation.

“Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President affirmed.

Addressing lingering national security concerns, the President praised the military for their bravery, specifically highlighting the recent high-profile elimination of a wanted global ISIS senior leader – Abu-Bilal al-Minuki – in a joint operation in the northeastern region.

However, he admitted that heartless pockets of terrorists and bandits still launch opportunistic attacks against vulnerable communities.

Issuing a stern warning to criminal elements, he assured affected citizens that they are neither abandoned nor forgotten, vowing that the state will leverage the full weight of the law to completely defeat the forces of evil.

In closing, the President urged the Muslim faithful to utilize the sacred period to offer prayers for national peace, leadership wisdom, and community stability. He charged citizens to look out for the less privileged, share generously with neighbors, and intentionally strengthen the corporate bonds of brotherhood that unite Nigeria.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a safe, prosperous nation where every citizen can freely pursue their dreams without fear, President Tinubu wished the entire federation a blessed, joyous, and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
