Following a landslide victory across 36 states and the FCT, President Bola Tinubu claims the ruling party’s flag and vows to use his new mandate to accelerate economic expansion.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections, securing a staggering 10,999,162 votes following a comprehensive nationwide collation of primary results.

By clearing this massive structural victory, the President has successfully solidified his party’s mandate, promising to aggressively consolidate economic reforms, lock in national progress, and strengthen the foundations of a modern Nigeria during his second term.

He made these remarks at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Sunday after receiving the official Certificate of Return and the party’s symbolic flag from the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.

The official results of the internal shadow polls were formally announced to an elite gathering of governors, National Assembly members, ministers, and party stalwarts by the Chairman of the APC Presidential Election Committee, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim. According to the committee’s audited data, the democratic process strictly adhered to the statutory guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), national electoral laws, and the internal APC constitution.

Voting occurred simultaneously across all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 774 local government areas, and 8,809 political wards.

Senator Anyim revealed that out of 12,643,316 registered party members, 11,069,746 were successfully accredited, and 11,015,665 cast their ballots. While President Tinubu secured an overwhelming majority, his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, finished second with 16,503 votes in a process certified by agents of both camps as fair, transparent, and legally sound.

Accepting the mandate with profound humility, President Tinubu expressed his deepest gratitude to the party’s leadership and the progressive governors who served as collation officers in Abuja. He noted that the next four years will focus on a disciplined national blueprint geared toward industrialization, energy security, infrastructure expansion, and food self-sufficiency. Reflecting on his administration’s track record over the past three years, the President urged party faithful to proudly showcase the structural transformations achieved under his watch.

Tinubu emphasized that his team successfully replaced wasteful fuel subsidies and unstable exchange rates with macroeconomic stability, resulting in a strengthening Naira and rising foreign reserves despite global inflationary shocks linked to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

He highlighted key achievements, including the disbursement of over ₦282 billion to 1.5 million students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the distribution of 2.5 million meters via the Presidential Metering Initiative, and a ₦4 trillion bond program that helped national power generation peak at a historic 6,000MW.

The President also reiterated his commitment to building long-lasting concrete superhighways along the coast and the Sokoto-Badagry corridors, while promising that his administration will not rest until peace is fully restored to every corner of the country.

Reaffirming his inclusive approach to governance, Tinubu extended a hand of partnership and dialogue to political opponents, asserting that true democracy is sustained not by enforced uniformity, but by the healthy blending of diverse ideas.
