Federal High Court In Mourning As Sitting Judge Passes Away In Kano Division

The Federal High Court officially announces the death of Justice Mohammed Yunusa, extending its heartfelt condolences to the family of the distinguished jurist.  

The Federal High Court (FHC) of Nigeria has officially announced the sudden passing of one of its sitting jurists, Hon. Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa, who until his demise served diligently under the Kano Judicial Division.

In a formal condolence statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, the Director of Information for the Federal High Court, Dr. Catherine-Oby Christopher, disclosed that the respected jurist passed away on Thursday evening at the Kano State Medical Centre following a brief illness. According to the administrative update, the late Justice Yunusa has since been buried in strict accordance with Islamic rites and traditions.

The leadership of the court highly praised the deceased as a stellar and distinguished judicial officer who approached his duties on the bench with absolute dedication, professional integrity, and an unyielding, career-long commitment to the transparent administration of justice in Nigeria.

The FHC management maintained that his immense institutional contributions to the growth of the Bench and the broader legal profession will be fondly remembered and deeply cherished by his judicial colleagues, members of the outer Bar, administrative court staff, and all individuals who had the unique privilege of interacting with him during his lifetime.

In its final remarks, the apex regulatory body noted that the Chief Judge, alongside the entire assembly of judges and administrative staff of the Federal High Court, extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his immediate family members during this trying time.

The court offered solemn prayers to the Almighty God to grant the grieving family the internal strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while supplicating for Almighty Allah to forgive the late judge’s shortcomings and grant his soul absolute rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
