The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board clears and releases 279 previously seized UTME scores after its thorough fraud investigation finds no evidence of wrongdoing.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were previously seized for further administrative scrutiny.
The examination body made this disclosure in an official statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed that these newly cleared scores are an addition to the millions of results already made public nationwide.
This executive decision forms part of the board’s meticulous, ongoing investigation into various flagged cases of suspected examination malpractice across several computer-based testing networks.
While certain candidates received a reprieve because the internal review panel established no prima facie case against them, JAMB confirmed that other scores have been permanently cancelled after concrete, undeniable evidence of systemic cheating was uncovered.
The board further clarified that results from testing venues where its live, high-tech monitoring teams flagged suspicious activities, or where local supervisors submitted adverse field reports, will remain heavily restricted and withheld pending the final conclusion of the forensic investigation. Any remaining score linked to proven culpability will be systematically wiped out.
For candidates who are anxiously waiting to verify their current standing, Dr. Benjamin advised them to check their profile status by simply texting the command word “UTMERESULT” to the official shortcodes 55019 or 66019 using the exact mobile phone number they utilized during their initial registration process.
