Zuru community mourns as Kebbi State House of Assembly Speaker, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, is laid to rest according to Islamic rites after his death in Egypt following a prolonged illness.

The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Usman-Zuru, has been laid to rest in his hometown, Zuru, in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Late Usman-Zuru died on Monday while receiving treatment at a hospital in Egypt after battling a prolonged illness.

He was buried in accordance with Islamic rites following a funeral prayer held at the Zuru Central Mosque on Thursday.

The funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Zuru Central Mosque, Imam Suleiman Tanko, who prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant him eternal rest.

Family members, political associates, community leaders, and residents gathered in Zuru to pay their last respects to the late lawmaker, whose death has been described as a significant loss to Kebbi State.

The late Speaker had been managing health challenges for some time, frequently travelling to Egypt for medical attention before his eventual demise.

Usman-Zuru died at the age of 56 and is survived by his wife and five children.
