President Tinubu’s 2026 Easter Message
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rejoiced with Nigerians at home and abroad as Christians celebrate Easter, urging unity, sacrifice and continued faith in ongoing reforms.
In his Easter message, the President said the season symbolises the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the redemptive power of salvation for humanity.
He noted that Easter embodies sacrifice, resilience and the triumph of light over darkness, adding that the message resonates with Nigeria’s current realities amid economic strain and security challenges.
Tinubu acknowledged that security threats persist despite efforts by the Armed Forces and security agencies, but assured that his administration was strengthening resources and foreign partnerships to deliver decisive blows against terror and banditry.
He recalled his visit to Jos, Plateau State, where he commiserated with victims of recent violence and reassured residents of improved security measures.
According to him, leaders of security institutions had given assurances of progress, while the Federal Government was also receiving international support to address the situation.
The President stressed the importance of unity, noting that no nation could thrive where fear prevailed or sustain progress without peace.
He also assured other parts of the country experiencing insecurity that ongoing efforts were already yielding breakthroughs.
Tinubu called on citizens to support lawful initiatives, promote peaceful coexistence and reject forces threatening national stability.
He further described ongoing economic reforms as necessary, though demanding, adding that they were carefully designed to deliver shared prosperity.
“As I have often said, true transformation cannot be achieved without sacrifice, and history affirms that enduring progress is often forged in moments such as these,” he stated.
Tinubu also urged political actors to conduct themselves responsibly as the country approaches another electoral cycle, stressing that the Electoral Act must guide the actions of political parties.
He said democracy flourishes where responsibility, restraint and informed participation prevail.
The President expressed optimism that economic indicators were improving and that the country was on the right path toward recovery.
He thanked Nigerians for supporting his administration and urged them to remain hopeful and committed to national development.
“I wish you all a Happy Easter,” the President said.
