Two Men Remanded Over Alleged N2.1m Vehicle Parts Theft In Ikorodu

An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded two men in a correctional centre for allegedly stealing vehicle parts valued at N2.1 million.

The defendants, Sogo Egbebi, 19, and Husamotu Jubril, 30, pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

Magistrate O.A. Ogbe ordered that the duo be remanded pending March 5 for review of facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Adegeshin Famiyiwa, told the court that the offences were committed between August 2025 and January 26 at Sholaja Street, Itamaga area of Ikorodu in Lagos State.

According to the prosecution, the defendants and others still at large stole 33 alternators valued at N1.5 million and 40 kick starters worth N594,000, property of the complainant, Mr Jelili Saka.

The offences, the prosecutor said, contravene Sections 287(7) and 412 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
