The Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria CAMPAN Enugu members under the Enugu Diocese on Saturday marked the feast of their Patron Saint, St. Francis de Sales, with a solemn Mass at the Domus Sancti Spiritus Chapel, Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu.
The Eucharistic celebration, which drew Catholic media practitioners from across the diocese, was presided over by the Director of Social Communications, Enugu Diocese, Rev. Fr. Anthony Aneke. In his homily, Fr. Aneke reflected on biblical lessons drawn from the life of Jonathan, warning against envy and urging media professionals to remain grounded in God’s grace in both personal conduct and professional practice.
“Humanity is called to mirror God’s goodness,” Fr. Aneke said, stressing that Catholic communicators must constantly seek divine wisdom to discharge their responsibilities with integrity and humility.
The Mass featured scriptural readings, Holy Communion and prayers offered for the Church, the media profession and the nation. The celebration, though modest, provided a moment of deep spiritual reflection for CAMPAN members.
Speaking shortly after the Mass, Mr. Gregory Odiakosa, who delivered the vote of thanks, described the feast as a unifying moment for the association. According to him, the gathering was an opportunity for members to thank God for the journey of CAMPAN and to seek spiritual support ahead of the association’s National Convention scheduled for March 18–21, 2026, in Owerri, Imo State.
“This Mass reminds us of the need for unity, dedication and prayer in our work as Catholic media practitioners,” Odiakosa noted.
Participants described the celebration as spiritually uplifting, reaffirming CAMPAN’s mission to strengthen Catholic presence in the media space while upholding ethical journalism anchored on faith values.
With the continued guidance of the diocesan Social Communications office, CAMPAN Enugu Diocese chapter said it remains committed to collaboration, professional excellence and responsible storytelling in service of the Church and society.
