QSEOGA Prize Giving: Queens School Enugu Alumnae Reward 105 Students, Teachers with ₦5m

The 2025 QSEOGA Prize Giving ceremony rewarded 105 Queens School Enugu students and teachers with ₦5 million for academic excellence, creativity, and service.

ENUGU, Nigeria – November 15, 2025: The 2025 QSEOGA Prize Giving ceremony has seen the Queens School Enugu Old Girls Association reward 105 outstanding students and teachers with a total of ₦5 million in cash gifts for exceptional academic performance, creativity, leadership, and service.

Held under the theme “Bound By Purpose, Empowering Growth and Elevating Sisterhood,” the QSEOGA Prize Giving event featured cash awards ranging from ₦20,000 to ₦100,000, depending on the category and level of excellence demonstrated.

Speaking at the ceremony, the National President of QSEOGA, Dr. Anne Amugo, said the QSEOGA Prize Giving initiative represented the association’s commitment to giving back to their alma mater and empowering a new generation of girls to pursue excellence.

She noted that education thrives when hard work is celebrated, stressing that the ceremony reaffirmed their dedication to nurturing academic brilliance, creativity, and talent, while also honoring teachers whose commitment and sacrifice sustain the school’s legacy.

Amugo added:
“Today we celebrate excellence, reward hard work, and inspire the next generation of achievers. We are delighted to recognize students who have excelled in their subjects and those who have shown creativity and exceptional talent. We also honor our teachers whose passion continues to shape young minds.”

She urged students to remain focused and disciplined, reminding them that consistency and integrity pave the way to success. She also commended teachers, describing them as the foundation upon which generations of leaders have been built.

Representing the Governor of Enugu State, Mrs. Ngozi Enih, Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs and Social Development, encouraged the girls to uphold confidence and high self-worth – values for which Queens School is known.

The Chairman of the Post Primary School Management Board, Rev. Fr. Hilary Mgbodile, applauded QSEOGA for its investment in students and urged beneficiaries to represent the school honorably.

A member of the Board of Trustees, Justice Uzoamaka Anyanwu, encouraged students to work hard, aim high, and seek assistance when faced with challenges.

The President of QSEOGA Enugu Branch, Mrs. Maureen Atuonwu, said the QSEOGA Prize Giving would motivate students and teachers to perform even better, adding that the branch also offers scholarships and skill acquisition support.

One of the beneficiaries, Senior Prefect Seniorita Okoroafor, expressed joy after clinching multiple awards:
“I am best in English Language, best in leadership, and second best in Economics. I feel so happy because this is the first time I am receiving this kind of award.”
