A young man (name withheld) has confessed to the tragic incident that resulted in the death of his church mate, Christiana Idowu, and expressed deep remorse, stating, “I deserve punishment, but I beg for a second chance.” The case has shocked many, with the man sharing details of how a moment of desperation led to the unfortunate event.
The young man explained that he had known Christiana, an Industrial Training (IT) student at Yaba College of Technology, for about three years. She had come to his house to have her phone repaired. According to him, “We were church members… She came to our house around 5 p.m. on the day of the incident and asked me to repair her phone.”
When asked about his actions, he admitted, “I was dealing with financial challenges, and in a moment of poor judgment, I made a terrible decision.” He went on to explain that after the incident, he attempted to demand ransom from Christiana’s mother, using a picture he had taken as leverage.
He also described how he later buried Christiana in a shallow grave behind his house. His attempts to withdraw the ransom were traced through his Sporty Bet account after he uploaded his National Identification Number (NIN). Reflecting on the incident, the young man said, “I regret what I did… I ask for God’s forgiveness and wish I could be given a second chance.”
