…As Prof Nnaji assures of Geometric Power willingness to support the state in the area of power

The first Akwa Ibom Dialogue, with the theme “Arise Agenda,” has today taken off at the magnificent Resort in Uyo, the state capital. This highly anticipated event is bringing together influential individuals from various sectors, including Governor Umo Eno Bassey and former Governor Victor Attah. The opening session which is chaired by former senator Udoma Udo Udoma who also was minister of budget and planning is underway.
Another prominent figure attending the dialogue is Professor Bart Nnaji, Chairman of Geometric Power Group and former Minister of Power who has also served as the Minister of Science and Technology.
Expressing his admiration for the state’s development, Nnaji remarked, “As I drove into Akwa Ibom State this morning, I can only but attest to the fact that the development trajectory of this state is going forward.” He expressed Geometric Power’s keeness to provide the necessary support to ensure the success of the Akwa Ibom State government in the area of power.
Prof Nnaji will serve, during the breakout session, as the facilitator for the power sector sub group which has no fewer than seven resource persons.
During his opening address, Governor Umo outlined several key objectives for his administration. The first was to make life in rural communities meaningful, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents outside urban centers.
Gov Umo also emphasised the need for agricultural development, recognizing the potential it holds for economic growth and food security in the state.
The governor, in addition, revealed his plans to grant incoming commissioners the autonomy to work rather than micromanaging them.
This move is aimed at fostering efficiency and swift decision-making within the government.
In a bid to strengthen local governance, council chairmen will be directed to relocate to their respective LGAs and reside there.
Governor Umo further highlighted that the outcomes arising from the breakout sessions during the dialogue would form the basis of the state’s developmental program.
This signifies the importance placed on collaboration and collecting diverse perspectives to shape Akwa Ibom State’s future.
This maiden Akwa Ibom Dialogue under Governor Bassey is focusing on the Arise Agenda, providing a valuable platform for prominent individuals from different sectors to convene and discuss strategies for the advancement of the state. With the presence of esteemed personalities such as former senators and federal ministers from the state, traditional rulers, local government chairmen and other professionals, the event is offering a significant opportunity for networking, collaboration, and collectively envisioning a prosperous and progressive future for Akwa Ibom State.
