Hope rising for PDP as massive defection hits APC in Benue State

Despite the challenges being posed to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following the recent crisis in the party, the Benue State chapter of the party is recording influx of decampees from other parties especially the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, thanks to the Sterling leadership qualities of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Membership of the PDP in the state recorded a boost Saturday (7/8/21) when the APC candidate for Benue Zone A District in the 2019 election, Chief Mrs Mimi Orubibi and her supporters numbering thousands decamped to the PDP.

They were received by the leader of the PDP in the state, Gov. Samuel Ortom accompanied by former Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam, and state PDP Chairman, John Ngbede, in Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

In recent times, defections had hit hard on Benue State APC as the party supporters are moving in droves to the PDP in the state.

Former focal person for the school feeding programme in Benue State, Hon. Utaan Terhide recently defected from the APC to the PDP after the flawed Ward congress the party with the broom conducted. (GMTNews)
